Terms of Service
Last updated: April 2026 · Effective for all Justifi users at justifi.ca
Important Notice: Justifi provides legal information, not legal advice. Nothing on this platform constitutes a lawyer-client relationship or professional legal counsel. Always consult a qualified lawyer licensed in your province before making legal decisions.
1 About Justifi and These Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Justifi ("we", "us", "our"), an AI-powered legal information platform available at justifi.ca. By accessing or using Justifi, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
Justifi is operated from Ontario, Canada. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.
If you do not agree with these Terms, you must not use the platform.
2 Service Description
Justifi is an AI-powered legal information tool that helps Canadians understand their legal situations. The platform:
- Collects information about your employment or legal situation through guided questionnaires
- Uses artificial intelligence to analyze your situation and generate case assessments
- Provides case strength scores, settlement estimates, and recommended next steps
- Generates downloadable PDF reports summarizing your assessment
- Connects users with employment lawyers for professional consultation
Legal Information vs. Legal Advice
Justifi provides legal information — general explanations of legal concepts and how they may apply to situations like yours. This is not legal advice. Legal advice requires a licensed lawyer who understands all the specific facts of your case. Do not rely solely on Justifi output to make legal decisions.
3 Eligibility and Account Registration
To use Justifi, you must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Be located in Canada or have a Canadian legal matter
- Provide accurate and truthful information when creating an account or submitting a questionnaire
- Maintain the security of your account credentials
You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at legal@justifi.ca if you suspect unauthorized access.
4 User Responsibilities
By using Justifi, you agree to:
- Provide honest and accurate information in your questionnaire responses
- Use the platform only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms
- Not attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or misuse the platform or its AI outputs
- Not share your account or allow others to access paid reports on your behalf for commercial purposes
- Not use AI-generated outputs as a substitute for qualified legal counsel
- Not upload documents containing third-party personal information without authorization
You acknowledge that the accuracy of your assessment depends entirely on the accuracy of the information you provide.
5 Payment Terms

Refund Policy
Because paid assessments are digital products delivered immediately upon purchase,
all sales are final. If you experience a technical error that prevented delivery of your assessment, contact us within 14 days at
legal@justifi.ca and we will investigate. Refunds are issued at our sole discretion.
6 AI-Generated Content and Accuracy
Justifi uses artificial intelligence (including Anthropic's Claude API) to generate assessments. You acknowledge that:
- AI-generated outputs may contain errors, omissions, or outdated information
- Settlement estimates are based on statistical analysis of comparable cases and may not reflect your actual outcome
- Case scores are educational tools, not predictions of legal success
- The law changes frequently — always verify current legal standards with a licensed lawyer
- Justifi is not a law firm and does not employ lawyers to review individual assessments
7 Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Canadian law:
- Justifi is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind
- We are not liable for any decisions you make based on information provided through the platform
- Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the specific assessment that gave rise to the claim
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- We do not guarantee that assessments are legally accurate, complete, or applicable to your specific situation
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, gross negligence, or matters where limitation of liability is prohibited by law.
8 Intellectual Property
The Justifi platform, including its AI models, scoring algorithms, interface design, and content, is owned by Justifi and protected by Canadian copyright law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.
You retain ownership of the information you submit. By submitting information, you grant Justifi a limited license to use it to generate your assessment and improve our service (in anonymized, aggregated form only).
9 Privacy and PIPEDA Compliance
We collect and process personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy legislation. Key points:
- We collect only the information necessary to generate your assessment
- Your data is stored on Canadian-compliant servers and encrypted at rest
- We do not sell your personal information to third parties

11 Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Justifi after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. For material changes, we will notify registered users by email where possible.
12 Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario, Canada.
Before initiating any legal proceedings, you agree to contact us at legal@justifi.ca to attempt to resolve the dispute informally.
